A recent review of The Old Bridge Hotel in Looe compared the property to a hotel in Hengchun Taiwan called The Riverside. On the surface of things, this seems quite an odd thing to do. Yet delve deeper into the review and it becomes clear why the comparison was made.
The Old Bridge Hotel in Looe is situated on the west side of the River Looe in Cornwall. The Riverside Hotel in Hengchun is near the river running through Hengchun, but is not directly situated next to it. It would seem the review of the two may be in error since the only thing the two hotels appear to have in common is a river and a name. Yet the similarities go deeper.
Taiwan is one of those places that are so easy to enjoy, but so hard forgetting. It is such a magical country with so many unique flavours. Being one of the most popular holiday destinations of the Brits, mostly because it is cheap and exotic, Taiwan deserves to be appreciated more. Simply because it is one of those countries where the west come in order to find peace, but where the locals live in horrible conditions and have so many problems that it is hard to discuss them all. That’s why I will focus briefly on some of the positive sides of this heavenly place.
If aliens do ever visit the planet, the last place you would expect them to land would be in the USA. Any species intelligent enough to have interstellar travel would also be intelligent enough not to land in a country where half the population still have trouble accepting a black president. It is far more likely that visitors from another world would choose a location that isn’t as young in its opinions as America.
As you can see from this (albeit hazy) footage, aliens may have chosen to study culture in the far-east with Taiwan being on their list as a destination hotspot. It makes sense really. If I was an alien I would choose to visit Taiwan as well so rich is the culture, architecture and natural habitat of the island. The Taiwanese themselves despite being distrustful of the Chinese openly embrace visitors from all over the world so it wouldn’t be a leap of the imagination to see beings from another planet being shown around Taipei and being made to sample the local cuisine at the night market.
One thing the aliens may have trouble with though is accessing the internet through their equivalent of mobile phones (I don’t really know exactly what they would be using but it couldn’t be that much more advanced then a Smartphone). With broadband being only available at varying speeds around the island the aliens might need to invest in sim cards like the ones available from abroadband that would allow them the cheapest roaming rates and best access to the net.
Another thing aliens would enjoy about Taiwan is the beaches that are available around the island. Most tourists don’t automatically equate Taiwan with crystal blue water and hot sunshine but they obviously haven’t visited the long sandy shores of Kenting in southern Taiwan. Popular with the locals, Kenting offers golden sand surrounded by 18,000 hectares of national park and deep blue waters. Aliens could join in with many of the activities on offer here as well including surfing, diving, parasailing, and jet skiing and boating. If Kenting was too noisy then a quick trip west would take any visitor to Jibei Island where you can find Baishawei Beach; an absolutely stunning silky white stretch of sand leading into clear green and blue waters. I’m sure any visiting alien would enjoy a snorkel and dive in the waters here as they are populated with some of the most spectacular coral reefs in Asia.
With hundreds of couples both from Taiwan and abroad regularly using Taiwan’s beaches as backdrops for their wedding ceremonies, as evidenced by a mass marriage reported by the BBC back in 2008, aliens could do a lot worse then travelling to Taiwan for their holiday. Underestimated, stunning, beautiful with scenery that will take your breath away, Taiwan would be the place I picked to land at if I were a visiting alien.
Since the election of Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou in 2008 tourism in Taiwan has been growing and growing. A BBC news report on the admittance of the first independent tourists from China allowed into Taiwan shows just how much the relations have warmed between the Island and its mainland forebear. Now is a good time to go to Taiwan and check out its culture and people.
If you are looking forward to planning a shopping trip to Thailand, you will not be left disappointed. Overnight markets and shopping malls among other places are what make Thailand dear to an enthusiastic shopper. Bangkok is one such destination in Thailand that is popular throughout the world for providing excellent shopping experiences to its visitors.

You may think that going on holiday is a fairly easy task these days. Book your cheap flight online and figure out How to get aroung roaming charges. Also pack your passport and toothbrush and you’re on your way. Some parts of the world are a little trickier than others though, and you need to do a bit more work, preparation and form filling to get there. As it is technically part of China, I always thought that Taiwan More

My friend who is a bio diesel supplier, just went to Taiwan as a conference. He was honestly thinking of just jetting in and out. He didn’t know anything about the country. Luckily I made a list of my favourite things to do in and around Taipei and he was absolutely convinced to spend time in this beautiful and fascinating country.
Taipei is amazing for its markets, big and small. One of the most famous attractions is the Night More
Taking planes in Taiwan is certainly a very cheap way of flying between cities. But I have found that there is a much better method of travelling when in Taiwan. It often works out to be substantially cheaper and is much more enjoyable than air travel. This method of travel doesn’t suffer from so many delays, you don’t have to endure invasive security procedures, and you’ll find that you don’t have to pay so much for every other element of More
It is not about italy ski, we are now going far away, america, chicago…
Chicago may sound somewhat dull and gray as opposed to New York, Los Angeles, Miami, mention of which seems to have far greater effect on the imagination.
It seems to me that most people who were not in Chicago, think of it as the industrial city neotlichavasht with who knows what. Live here for several years and deliberately decide to speak from the perspective of More
